We are primarily a jazz band that performs the tried and true standards for corporate dinners, ballroom dances, wedding receptions, country clubs and the like. We also provide a singing telgram service and we perform retro pop hits from the 70-90s and beach music
PIANIST/VOCALIST/KEYBOARDIST("one-man-band") JIM LOFTUS is one of the top booked solo artists in several states for private functions(PA/NJ/DE/MD area)...HE'S CURRENTLY PLAYING PIANO WEEKLY IN NYC AT THE BRAND NEW "DESTINO" RESTAURANT [destinony.com](investor:Justin Timberlake)HE HAS OPENED FOR REGIS PHILBIN & TODD RUNDGREN, PLAYED TRIBUTE DINNERS FOR JULIE ANDREWS,MILTON BERLE,DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS,JR.AND ROSETTA LeNOIRE AT THE PLAZA & WALDORF-ASTORIA HOTELS & 21 CLUB--AND IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR FUNCTION! Jim is an exceptional pianist/keyboardist/vocalist who has played public and private venues extensively in NYC, the Lehigh Valley, PA, and more recently in Philadelphia and its surrounding regions since 1986. His original musical 'Ghosts On Broadway' played the John Houseman Theatre in NYC in 1995...and he released two original pop/rock CDs 'THE FAME GAME'(2000) and 'Rockuperation'(2003). Jim is also a SAG/AFTRA actor who has appeared in three episodes of "LAW & ORDER:SVU", most notably playing a featured jury member on the episode "STRAIN"(original airdate Oct.18, 2005; has aired several times on NBC and USA network--SEE EPISODE "Strain" AGAIN MARCH 31, 2007 at 10PM E.S.T. on USA NETWORK).Jim has also appeared in 'HITCH' with Will Smith; been on 5 episodes of 'HACK' on CBS and a 'SEX & THE CITY' episode on HBO(third to the last show, final 6th season); he's starred in many stage musicals as well, playing Jesus in 'JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR' and many other roles. He is available for private parties whether corporate or residential and year-round wedding receptions(including ceremony music--he played Church Organ for 15 years and did numerous wedding ceremonies). He can does primarily solo work on piano and vocals or with his double keyboard setup and acoustic guitar (sounds like a full band since drums and bass are programmed in keyboards). HE WILL CONSIDER TRAVELLING GREAT DISTANCES(INTERSTATE)SO HE ENCOURAGES YOU TO BID FOR HIS SERVICES REGARDLESS OF DISTANCE.
Jim plays a wide gamut of material from the '20's through today as demonstrated by the incredibly diversified songlist below; Old Standards/Sinatra era/Jazz; Broadway old and new; and Pop/rock music from the '50's to today.
The Lawrence Marshall Band is a fully rehearsed group with a standard line up of seven-pieces featuring: male and female vocalists/motivators, bass, guitar, drums, keyboards and sax. Our front line features four diverse and dynamic lead vocalists.
-We can expand our band to include additional vocalists, a larger horn-section and percussion depending your needs.
-We play a large variety of music geared toward each individual crowd with new material added all the time. If something is not on one of our extensive song lists, and we do not already play it, we will make sure to rehearse it in time for your event.
-To make your event run smoothly, the band leader coordinates the days festivities. This includes all announcments and coordination with other professionals (Caterer, Photographer, Videographer, etc...) We understand how vital attention to detail is.
Multi/inter-stylistic, multi instrumentalist, counter cultural, anti-establishment, 5th column architect, philosopher, scientist, inventor, story teller, film maker, witch, warrior, poet, pirate, psychonaut, hunter, gatherer, farmer, fisherman, entrepreneur, saboteur, provocateur, wanderer, reveler, law breaker, peace maker, gadfly, faithful non believer, normal suburban kid, one of the freakiest freaks in free freakdom, of and for the wilderness of the earth and in the mind. A wild fucking mind like an unrelenting weed barging up through the cracks in the memetic pavement smeared over our mindscapes by our culture, trying to find others like itself to propagate before being chopped down, poisoned or uprooted by delusional order mongers for the sin of daring to be, without their permission.
