Here are what two recent clients had to say about hiring Narrow Gauge:

Dear Jim,

We were very happy with your services. You took care of all the set up and tear down as well as any issues during the night. This goes for the cocktail/dinner music as well. All of your musicians were really friendly and flexible ( i.e. having 6 girls up on stage to sing) and your fun attitude was much appreciated. You also did an excellent job keeping the wedding on track (i.e. getting the dancing started) without pressuring us to follow a time line exactly. Most importantly though, the music was great and there was never an empty dance floor....or even a sparsely populated one! It was by far one of the best parties I've been to, and to have it be our wedding too was more that we could have asked for."

Thanks,

Kyler and Emily Brown

Dear Gigleader,

Thank you Gigleader for leading us to such a great band for our wedding! Narrow Gauge was the perfect fit. We had looked all over and could not find a band that we thought would fit our guests. We love country music and so did many of our guests, but there were also people who liked a variety of different genres of music. Narrow Gauge played to the crowd and kept the dance floor packed all night. We had so much fun that we even hired them for an extra set! Narrow Gauge was easy to work with! Jim was so helpful in helping us plan our reception. We had all the details worked out weeks before the reception, so I could try to relax! He even MC'd the event for us. They let several of our guest sing on stage with them, and even let Steve, my new husband play bass on one song. He doesn't even know how to play bass, but somehow it sounded great. During their breaks they had DJ music pumping through the dance floor, so even when they weren't playing, our guests kept dancing! It was truly a night to remember. Thank you Narrow Gauge for your professionalism and talent. You were so phenomenal! We couldn't recommend you more highly!

Pairadeux - Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Female/male rock duo Pairadeux is unlike any duo you've ever heard. We can fill dance floors or provide background entertainment at a networking event. Utilizing guitar, vocals, electronic drums and percussion, all performed LIVE, we sound like more than two people. Unlike most full bands, our volume and demeanor is appropriate for any venue - from home rec rooms to hotel ballrooms and beyond.

We play cover songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's thru today. Our extensive, diverse set list ranges from the Beatles to Coldplay, Elton John, Janis Joplin, Natalie Merchant, Sheryl Crow, K.T. Tunstall, Grateful Dead, David Gray, Counting Crows, Fleetwood Mac, Incubus, James Taylor and many, many more.

Pairadeux plays 80-100 shows per year. We are very audience-interactive, often involving everyone with singalongs, trivia and animated conversation.

Pairadeux performs with wireless mics and instruments, so we often roam into the audience.

All music is performed live; no canned or prerecorded backing tracks are used, though you might hear an occasional 'sample'.

While we specialize in rock material, we are happy to take requests in that genre and others. These requests are best made prior to the performance.

We look forward to playing at YOUR event!

The Williams Brothers Band - Grand Junction, Colorado
THE WILLIAMS BROTHERS were molded in the streets of Oakland, California during the seventies listening to their parents vast blues & country vinyl collection, the funk that flowed out of boomboxes (pre hip-hop), and the psychedelic folk rock that blossomed in the East Bay Area during that time. Inevitably the brothers followed their families lineage of song and dance men(Gr,Gr,Gr,Great Grandpa penned the traditional favorite, "Sweet Betsy from Pike" in mid 1800's. While Great Grandpa had a country swing big band that toured the US extensively in the 1920s-1930s), The brothers started putting together their first groups in the mid 1980's. (Uncle John's Band, 922, The Homegrown Boogie Band) A WILLIAMS BROTHERS show features intertwining songs and extended improv induced jams fueled by any and all audatory stimulus to have ever sounded, there is no genre or barrier that is considered unusuable, all previous artists are an influence in one way or another, it is true old school original jam music. JAMES WILLIAMS vocals are inspired by the grit of JIM MORRISON, the soul of OTIS REDDING and the personal experience of JERRY GARCIA. PHILLIP WILLIAMS plays lead guitar with a deep blues style that is noticeably influenced by JIMI HENDRIX, DUANE ALLMAN, ALVIN LEE and at times with a fluidity that is eerily reminescent of JERRY GARCIA. Whether solo, together as "ACOUSTIC WB" or with their back-up group THE HOMEGROWN BOOGIE BAND, WILLIAMS BROTHERS shows are always full of surprises & special guests. it is never the same show twice. THE WILLIAMS BROTHERS BAND hit #1 on the mp3.com Blues charts 12/19/06 with JOHNNY THE SQUIRREL, coupled by DEEP ELEM BLUES which was simultamiously perched at #7 (eventually reaching as high as #4). TWBB has released a total of four albums (Three live recordings & one studio release), and have countless live bootleg recordings circulating throughout the tape trading ranks. TWBB is currently in the studio working on their next studio album which will be released Spring '07.

Straight Shooter - Lexington, Oklahoma
Straight Shooter, a country band from Oklahoma was formed in July 1996 by Jim and Mike Duggins. They have played all over Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas at numerous clubs, festivals and events. They were selected this year to peform at the annual "OPENING NIGHT 2006" in Oklahoma City. The year 2006 looks exciting as well they will be playing at Toby Keith's "I Love This Bar and Gril" on January 7th. They also have an upcoming show at the Bricktown Brewery later on in the year. They have played for the Mary Fallin for Congress Rallies and Watch Party in 2006. Their specialty is performing at wedding receptions all over the country with a wide variety of music to chose from they have become one of the more sought after groups for these occasions. The band consists of some pretty impressive musicians in their own right, Jim and Mike Duggins have been playing music since they were old enough to stand, and have deep musical roots, being, they are related to a great music star, Conway Twitty, Bud Kurtz has played with members of ZZ Top and other well known musicians in the Dallas Texas area, Mike Munhollon has played behind many well known country artists, Charlie Hutson has been a DJ for KEBC and has drummed for many bands throughout the years. The band has a CD " Have you heard Straight Shooter ". The CD dubbed, new- age country, a cross between "The Eagles" and The Statler Brothers is on the charts in England, Australia, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Antarctica, The Netherlands, Sweden and Belgium to name a few. The band has been nominated for various awards in the year 2000, from being named artist of the week in The Netherlands and having cd of the week in The Netherlands to winning the online country music award for best country band/group of the year 2000 overseas to being named country band of the year 2000 by The Oklahoma Country Music Association, New Artist Radio, "Country Group of the year" for 2002, the band is no run of the mill ordinary band. Disc Jockeys who have heard the cd have been impressed but most play-lists re corporately controlled and this is a local band. One Norman Talk show host has been playing some cuts from the CD and Al Escbach plays the Beer Song from time to time but that's about it. . Just recently the band is being noticed in the US. They have been featured on Twang Town USA out of Nashville, Nitewolf Radio in Wisconsin and Music Spotlight in California. The cd has received rave reviews from Linda Fryer, BMI and songwriter, Downeast Records and Deborah Minters, Australia. "It is amazing how hard it is to get something played if you are not with a big label." The songs are solid and there are more in the box waiting to be released. Cuts from the CD go over so well with live crowds that one local bar has said that Straight Shooter is the most played CD on the juke box. It all got started when the band played a few cuts written by singer / songwriter Bud at a live gig last year Three different people the band had never met offered to pay for the studio time if they would record their music. One song " the Beer Song" a story about a group of guys who just came to drink beer is a particular favorite. "We have done interviews with radio stations playing our stuff all over Europe but we are basically unknown here in the US. "The Oklahoma Country Music Association has asked them to be their house band too and want them to back up other talented Oklahoma bands. "Some of us have played with or behind some big name people so it should come as no surprise that we can play". At a recent concert in Noble for around 2000 people the band played 5 songs not even on their play list including one, they had never done before. In the near future the band intends to keep gigging and they have been approached about doing a European tour. In 2006 they will be releasing their new cd "Shake Your Country". We would like to pick up some gigs as a warm up act for some bigger acts. That way we could get the exposure we need to attract a CD deal with a major label. In the meantime we are writing new stuff and staying busy. We all have careers during the day but our real love is music. "
