Currently, Myles Mattison (One of the most sought after Music Directors and drummers around, playing with Patti LaBelle, Kenny Loggins, Brian McKnight, Corinne Bailey Rae, and many others)is on drums and percussion, Corey Batey is on the piano/keys, and Chason is the lead vocalist, and guitarist. When the budget and size of show provide for it, we add in a tremendous Bass player, several back up vocalists, and another wonderful guitar player. | Protest For Pluto started in the spring of 05'. Tj Colwell and the Bramlett brothers started it off. With some changes over the years, God has givin them a strong line-up which created a unique style and sound known as Protest For Pluto. Using hard hitting and power driven songs with a hint of rock roots like "Freedom", and "It Doesn't Matter" Protest For Pluto ups the ante for a rock show. Believing in giving the audience more than what they paid for Protest For Pluto delivers highly in live performance. This does not mean they slack in song writing, on the contrary they pour as much into their music as their performance. Their energy and emotion rips through their songs every bit as much as their shows as heard in songs like "Salvation's Gates" and "Reach Out". Their mission is to spread the word of God through their music, rock out for the masses, and to be the true warriors of rock n' roll. |

| This is a young band, interested in youth gatherings but has been highly successful with all age groups. Extremely high energy, yet able to transition into very intimate worship. Familiar with top 40 Christian rock songs, but also has extensive worship background. All band members are part of the prestigious Commercial Music Department at South Plains College in Texas. Highly skilled musicians and singers with professional attitudes. Very serious about the work God has called them to. Will travel with or without sound equipment and are trained to run it. Use in ear monitor system to cut down on stage volume. Katalyst knows how to rock the house, but is also sensitive to their environment and will not be offended if there is a need to turn down. Audience participation is extremely important to the band. They desire to worship WITH their audience, not AT them. Will tailor performances to fit your needs. | In Chad had a vision. A vision of a band that has a purpose. The mission of the band will be to serve God, talk about Jesus and create an atmosphere to examine truthfully your relationship with our Savior. The Gift was born.
The band has diverse influences, Trace Adkins to Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix to Hank Williams Sr., P.O.D. to Evanescence, Robert Johnson to Grand Funk Railroad, and Tim McGraw to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Chad started the band with family members, wife, sister and brother-in-law. The Gift through personnel changes has changed from a family band to a band that is truly family. The band has been successful at accomplishing its mission b before it ever played a show and the future holds more victories in the name of Jesus. God is ever faithful.
The Gift has diversity. The members have a range of musical experience with
various other bands and genres. Also, the members attend various churches.
The music reflects this diversity as the writing is done collectively. The lyrics
are straight to the point and are doctrinally correct .The Gift’s music is hard to
put into a nice neat box. Our diversity and reliance on God’s providence is our
appeal and strength.
The band has played prisons, youth groups and various church functions.
But, any event is possible as long as it falls into our criteria. The only criteria
for where we will play is we have to lift up the name of Jesus and the gospel |
