OceanState, as a whole, began in the summer of 2004. The quintet was formed from the passion and love of the same music. Beginning from house parties and expanding to larger shows and acts. OceanState over the past few years has created a large fan base in the New England area. Over the years their music has matured and become more centralized on worldly issues & ideas at hand. Rather than falling into the cliche of writing about drinking, smoking, and partying, they try to write music that hopefully can make a difference not only for an individual but on a societal basis as well. They have joined the stage with such talents as Baylock, Sucka Brown, On the Drop, Roots Down Below, Orange Jam Conspiracy, Formal Action, Multiverse, Suspect, State Radio, Adam Ezra Group, Vega, Jon Tierney, Sweetfist, Plan 17, Street Credit, 3 Feet Short, Sound System, Someday Providence, M-80, Fistful of Steel, As Fast As, Parker House & Theory, Chachi, DJ Therion, DJ BladeMon, Braddigan, Badfish, and many others. It's hard to pigeon-hole OceanState's style, but whatever it may be, one thing is for certain, OceanState brings high energy and positive vibes to every show.
