Jake Johnson Band is a cover/original band with a very unique style and sound. With a slight touch of nastalgia for the old-schoolers, and a completely original act for all those into the theatrical. Now add in a pinch of Rock n Roll, a dash of Country, a shake of Blues and a whole lot of Attitude and you have yourself the ingredients for one hell of a show, fueled by The Jake Johnson Bands own brand of music and performance. It's called... Southern Fusion.
We are a five piece band, with an acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica, an upright bass and drums. The sound is a bit different than what we are used to hearing. it's a little groovy with out the jam band overtones. with a wide variety of musicial influences from each member of the band, Old Stone comes together with a unique sound that just about anyone can appreciate.
Specializing in Jimmy Buffett style outings, or parties, where tropical is the theme, and the attitudes are laid-back, and happy-go-lucky. All songs presented here are my own originals, and though I am proud of each and every one of them, I know that most people want to hear the songs they're already familiar with by popular artists. But these songs will give you an accurate idea of what I sound and play like in a live setting when doing those more familiar tunes. All songs were recorded several years ago, and even though I've had to let the band go because of moving to another area, I can still use the piano player heard on these recordings if conditions are right. I also have access to an excellent lead guitar player as well.
