Solo instrumental jazz guitar or jazz/blues standards instrumental or vocal groups from duo through quintet. Vocal band performs under the name Sultry and instrumental band performs under the name Lori & Friends.
We are primarily a jazz band that performs the tried and true standards for corporate dinners, ballroom dances, wedding receptions, country clubs and the like. We also provide a singing telgram service and we perform retro pop hits from the 70-90s and beach music
Multi/inter-stylistic, multi instrumentalist, counter cultural, anti-establishment, 5th column architect, philosopher, scientist, inventor, story teller, film maker, witch, warrior, poet, pirate, psychonaut, hunter, gatherer, farmer, fisherman, entrepreneur, saboteur, provocateur, wanderer, reveler, law breaker, peace maker, gadfly, faithful non believer, normal suburban kid, one of the freakiest freaks in free freakdom, of and for the wilderness of the earth and in the mind. A wild fucking mind like an unrelenting weed barging up through the cracks in the memetic pavement smeared over our mindscapes by our culture, trying to find others like itself to propagate before being chopped down, poisoned or uprooted by delusional order mongers for the sin of daring to be, without their permission.

Comprised of some of the best and most versatile players around, trumpeter/vocalist Bill Averbach brings it home with vintage jazz, blues, swing and jumpin’ jive from the 20’s to the most contemporary. Influenced heavily by artists such as Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan and Louis Prima the band plays that jumpin’ jive so reminiscent of zoot suits and two-tone shoes. And when they play that New Orleans sound you can almost taste the creole and gumbo at Mardi Gras.
