When Kaye sings, she tells a story from her heart. She says, “When I sing, it’s from my soul, who I am, you see the inside of me, no acting.” In the spirit of Judy Garland, she loves to entertain and is at her best in front of an audience. She calls her style “jazz with a cabaret twist.” Her wide vocal range allows her to manipulate her voice to sound like anything she wants from a gutsy blues and energetic swing tune to a passionate ballad to classical high tones to the smooth voice of a child. People call her “the little girl with a big voice.” This versatility allows her to sing almost any genre of song she wants but jazz and the standards are her love.
Singing mostly pop and classical music from age five, in the early ‘ ’s Kaye fell in love with jazz and attended jazz vocal classes at DeAnza College with Roger Letson and at Jazz Camp West where there were many fine divas as instructors including Madeline Eastman and Rebecca Paris. Since that time, she formed a band called The Jazz Affair working with excellent “first call” musicians. She has performed in many clubs and restaurants, at hotels such as the Fairmont and Hyatt House; for corporations like Cisco Systems, Sony Electronics, Santana Row, Smart & Final; various festivals; yacht clubs; and other company and private events where they have been very pleased, as put forth in their testimonials. Kaye also was the winner of the talent search on the Norwegian Cruise Line. Her CD “I’ll Be Seeing You” is a composite of favorite standards, blues and show tunes accompanied by Doug McKeehan-piano, Seward McCain-bass, Tim Solook-drums, and Noel Catura-saxophone.
Every wedding and party needs some form of entertainment, so why not a DJ? I am a mobile disk jockey who provides sound, music and lighting for any event. I'll make your wedding or party a memorable one, while having fun at what I enjoy doing - music!
I have over 9,000 songs to spin, and that library is growing daily. Along with playing music, I can make general announcements, entertain, provide sound and lighting for other people, and work with other vendors at an event to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Clients are offered a free consultation meeting (in person if close to Eugene, OR; over phone or through e-mail if not) to discuss my services, music that should be played and any other details that will need to be gone over before the event. After that we can stay in contact through e-mail and phone to make any changes or add last minute requests to your playlist.
If you don't live in Eugene and are still interested in my services, don't worry - I'll travel! My free consulatation meeting can take place over the phone or through e-mails, and I'll work just as hard to make sure that your event rocks!
