the get down is a band with a wide variety of sounds such as acoustic and electric rock, hip and trip hop, synth electronica, and pop and rnb. we have been described as fob mixed with a more commercial( but not less credible) tribe called quest, mixed with radiohead and timbaland production, with a dash of gym class style and a live dj.

Take a large chunk of rock, mix in a little funk, add some pop and techno, and a hint of the 1970's, and what's the end result? - Boston's multi-styled and distinctive Blue Moon Harem. They've created an interesting sound, covering different genres of rock, that has become their trademark.Blue Moon Harem was formed by singer/songwriter Bix and guitarist Demetri in 1999. After deciding to take a different approach to recording, they procured the services of well respected producer Jim Siegel; as well as, the talents of drummer Lex Lianos, and bass player Paul Bryan (Paula Cole, Katie Curtis, Amiee Mann, and Nora Jones). The outcome is the 11 song self titled Blue Moon Harem. . This powerful CD is diverse and fun, basic yet complex, and is appealing to, and has received a very positive response from, a wide ranging audience.
The CD kicks off with the pulsing rock tune Addiction which has received airplay on WAAF's local music show in Boston, on which the band has also performed live. Addiction, along with Ride and Dog's Life, has been praised in reviews leading to spots as a featured "song of the day" on Garageband.com's home page. The band is also a staple on Evolvingartist.com's radio show and on their 24 hour streaming video program. The songs Addiction, I am a Wall, Illness, and Dog's Life are featured in the independent movie Under Surveillance from New York based Fourth Horizon Cinema. Addiction and other songs are also featured in the film Hurt from Pittsburg, PA and Morgantown, WV based Sorry Dog Productions. Look for the main character wearing a Blue Moon Harem t-shirt!! Most, if not all, of the CD will be featured in the movie Double A Highway from the same company. Look for us to be in the film as well.
Blue Moon Harems current lineup is: Bix on vocals; Demetri on guitars; Brian McDougal on drums and percussion; looking for a new bass player. BMH is supporting their release with live performances throughout the New England and New York areas.
The Pepermint Leprosy is an amazing band out of Rhode Island that has a huge passion for music. They live to play for live crowds and always please and entertain. Everyone who has ever seen the pepermint leprosy has a long lasting amazment. They never cease to impress and alway put on great shows.
Imagine Crystal Method or Enigma, but with Sarah Brightman on vocals. New original music, beautiful melodies, perfect grooves and excellent sound design. Creative combination of Pop-Rock, Electronica, Modern New-Age & Spiritual music with elements of Symphonic mixes, opera and ethnic voices. Remixes of famous Classic Rock and Classical Masterpieces.
