DANCE TILL YOU DROP
Houston’s pulse surges with TropiCrew’s musical energy
In the words of Celia Cruz, “la vida es un carnaval—life is a carnival” and TropiCrew brings “el carnaval” to the Houston entertainment scene, heating up dance floors across the city with its captivating melodic beat.
Over the years, TropiCrew has cultivated a solid reputation on four continents with a widely varied repertoire that runs the gamut from tropical rhythms including: salsa, meringue, bachata, reggaeton and cumbia to rock en Español, top 40, classic rock, 80’s disco, international pop, ballads, swing and everything in between.
TropiCrew’s Houston appearances include the most popular clubs and dance venues such as Havana Latin Grill, Elvia’s, Solero, Mi Luna, Sullivan’s and Ruggles, as well as arenas like Reliant Center and Minute Maid Park. This popular group has also performed during the campaigns of numerous elected officials such as former Mayor Lee Brown and the band is recognized for raising the entertainment bar at private parties all over the Metro area.
Six extraordinary musicians at the top of their game make up this premiere band which includes both male and female lead vocals. Given indisputable talent on stage and behind the scenes, TropiCrew defines the dance experience that Houston audiences crave.
With a CD set for release in early 2008 and another recording endeavor already in the works, TropiCrew continues to evolve as a creative force while keeping Houstonians on their dancing feet.

Mariachi Tamazula actually began in 2003 with short breaks and moves (from Austin to Corpus Christi and back) in between. I'm glad to announce that Mariachi Tamazula is back since July of 2006 with the best lineup yet. Don Roberto A. Lopez, Sr. brings the mariachi over 25 years of experience as a professional musician. His son, Robert A. Lopez, Jr. (guitarron)continues the tradition with the guidance of Dias Lopez (vihuelero). Dias Lopez has been with the Lopez family since 1997. He is from San Luis Potosi and has played professionaly for a number of years in the famed "Plaza Garibaldi" (Mexico, D.F.) being a member of numerous groups including the historic Mariachi Los Monarchas. An old friend, Maria Diaz, joins Mariachi Tamazula on guitar, lending her powerful female vocal color. On trumpet for Mariachi Tamazula, a young, experienced, virtuosic trumpet player from San Antonio; Eric Pena. Mariachi Tamazula is also proud to have such amazing violin players. Wendy Meeker joins us from the Austin area with over 15 years of professional mariachi experience. She has performed internationally and is a wonderful addition to the group.
