| The Old Dogs are a Detroit classic rock/soul/funk cover band. From Seger to Stevie Wonder, from Tower of Power to Grand Funk, the Old Dogs play a wide-ranging repertoire. Not the usual classic rock cover band, The Old Dogs lean toward the "deeper cuts" from great bands and artists from back in the day. Rather than emulate a jukebox of the same old standards heard thousands of times, The Old Dogs prioritize musicianship and showmanship in order to deliver a night of invigorating, infectious rock and soul via a constantly evolving repertoire. | The Tenacious Red band was
formed in and includes a
lineup of Patti Christensen handling
vocals and percussion, Dave
Christensen doubling between
vocals and guitar, Richie
Maciejewski playing lead
guitar, Barry Schigelone on
the bass and vocals, Bill
Gravlin on the drums and Joe
Lipare on the keyboards.
The band members all
possess a passion for music
and have long been involved
in various projects. The
musical beginnings for each
can be traced back to an early
age. Inspiration comes from a
wide variety of influences
including such artists as The
Cream, Santana, Pat Benatar,
and Stevie Ray Vaughan just
to name a few. Of course, if
all the influential artists were
listed here, many pages would
be needed.
The band plays an eclectic
blend of music. Most songs
covered will be recognized;
however, there may be a few
tunes new to the crowd. Start
with a base of classic rock,
add in some modern rock,
include a hint of country, toss
in a little southern rock and
top it all off with a taste of the
blues. Mix it all together and
what you have is a musical
group playing a wide variety of
music that is sure to get feet
tapping, heads nodding,
people singing along and
bodies dancing on the floor.
Whether playing in basement
bands, singing karaoke,
working at the college radio
station, or as a wedding DJ,
music seems to have always
been a central theme in the
lives of the band
members.Viewing music as a
medium to bring people
together, the group strives to
create an atmosphere of joyful
exuberance.
