I’m a conga player based in the Downingtown, PA area with over years behind the skins. Just wanted to introduce myself and explore the possibility you may have need for a percussionist at some point or know of a group that may. I have pro gear ( LP congas, a big djembe, bongos, scrapers and shakers, etc.), my own mics and cables, and reliable transport. I have a reliable, on-time. professional work ethic and have played the suburban circuit for a few years in a variety of bands and groups. I’m willing to be a walk-in percussionist for a gig and am open to a permanent relationship. I will dress appropriate to the event (I have a tux for wedding/corporate/ private gigs) and play all genres including covers as well as Latin and Afro styles, world/ethnic, blues, alt. soul, funk, etc and can improv/accompany just about anything that comes up. minute mp demo “montage” available.

TIPICAL CUBAN HARDCORE SALSA....Conjunto Imagen was founded in 1989 by bandleaders Ernie Acevedo and Junior Rivera. Angelo Gonzalez joined as Musical Director in 1990. They have since recorded eleven productions. Three of those were produced under J & N Records label entitled “Tumba, Tres y Bongo”, “Te Invita a Bailar” and “Mi Rumba”. The next five productions were recorded under the Platano Records label entitled “Algo Nuevo”, “Por Amor a Ti”, “Encuentro Especial”, “Imagen 97”, and “Entrando a Milenio” and a Christmas CD, “Xmas with Imagen” (which features Jose Fajardo & Yomo Toro). Their last production, “Contra la Fuerza”, was released by Platano Records and distributed by Universal Records. Conjunto Imagen’s newest production “Ayer, Hoy y Mañana” is being released under their very own record label Muziq, Inc. Records with the vocal talents of Jesus Serrano and Eddie Rosado. Cubanoson is a traditional Cuban dance orchestra as created by pianist, Leonel “Papo” Ortega. This musically inspired pianist and composer has enjoyed the privilege of working alongside several exceptional musicians, among them, Roberto Rodriguez, Chico Alvarez,Junior Rivera, José Fajardo and Cándido Camero. Cubanoson unites the “Punto Cubano” and the “Son Montuno” bringing danceable Cuban music to any event,(public or private), concert or festival. The purpose of this orchestra is to unite the talent and dedication of excellent contemporary musicians,(true exponents of our roots), to offer and express our traditional Cuban music to all cultural venues. Cubanoson honors the great artists who have bestowed upon us the utmost musical education.
