Ajae: An amazing songstress, songwriter, and as of late, she has shown great promise as a producer. Ajae’s love for music dates back to her Apostolic church upbringing. During Ajae’s youth, her mother played an integral role in shaping her daughter’s music career; she enrolled her in the church youth choir. Ajae’s mother recognized the musical prowess that rested within her daughter. Soon after, this single parent began developing a young Ajae’s voice by carefully mentoring her through practices with the choir.
The songstress remembers growing up in an environment fully submerged with music. For example, Ajae’s aunt was always around her singing songs by the ever popular Chaka Khan; because of that, Ajae’s music is somewhat inspired by this famous singer. Her aunt would also be seen performing on the local circuit. Not to mention, this phenomenal artist’s grandmother and great-aunt were well known throughout the church populace for playing in the church.
If you were to ask Ajae about her musical training, she would probably express to you the many years of formal tutelage. Her abilities were greatly enhanced by the piano lessons she learned at age 7. She continued her training on different instruments such as the violin, the viola, and the cello. As her abilities increased, Ajae would soon move into the school chorus. It was then she would learn to really capture the moment with her voice.
Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Sade, and Teena Marie: these R&B singing monuments were some of Ajae’s greatest influences when she was perfecting her signature sound. After high school, Ajae was compelled to begin her music career full steam. She began touring with a band named ‘Midnight Blue’. It was later that Ajae was priviledged to gain some knowledge on stage performance and how to act on the stage by a former band member of Midnight Blue. Ajae was satisfied for a short while; but the desire to grow wasn’t. It was at this particular juncture in her career that she used her knowledge and skills to create her own music; this was destiny. Ajae soon realized her music was pleasing to others and it was also marketable, very marketable. In the grand scheme of things, Ajae’s purpose is to please the masses with her beautiful R&B. Her life’s objective is to rejuvenate this genre and detour it from an untimely death by samples and loops. The life-sustaining heartbeat of Rhythm & Blues rest within the chords and melodies. Ajae IS the re-birth of old school R&B.

JESSICA LYNN combines the sultry sounds of her Louisiana heritage with the backbone of her gospel upbringing in an entourage of blues, southern rock and pop rock original and cover songs. Her band has played the north central Louisiana club circuit for the last year and a half, and with a recent record deal, the group is ready to rock their way across the southern states to promote the music of their main attraction, Jessica Lynn.
With an edge reminiscent of some of southern rock’s most popular bands, Jessica Lynn spins a soulful female perspective on love, living and loss. Belting out classic cover songs like "Simple Man"; "Come To My Window"; "Fire" and "I'd Rather Go Blind" - Jessica Lynn connects with the audience every bit as much as she does the songs she sings. Crowd pleasing comes naturally for the band members with a list of cover songs that play like a mantra to their blues loving audiences. The band makes a collaborative effort to keep the bar jammed and the dance floor full. The band opened for Louisiana music greats, Irma Thomas and Jo-el Sonnier this past spring and is scheduled to open for Sammy Kershaw on August 19th.
JESSICA LYNN is available as an opening act for headliners, private parties, weddings and honkey-tonks across the south.
At age 11, Tracy Hamlin introduced her soulful voice before a curious crowd at the La Fountain Blue in Baltimore, Md. From that day on, Tracy knew she had a special gift, and her life changed forever. Little did she know then that she would travel the world as a lead singer, visiting places she had only dreamed of as a little girl: from Japan to South Africa.
Now, Hamlin, the longtime lead singer for the award-winning group, "Pieces of a Dream", releases her first solo album, "Seasons" (DMH Records, LLC). The CD will feature performances by Najee on flute in "Sundown", James Lloyd (from Pieces of a Dream) on piano in the title cut and Paul Reed Smith (world renowned guitar maker) in "Ain't No Sunshine".
For Hamlin, "Seasons" is a wonderful representation of her rich, warm sound that has attracted both R&B and jazz aficionados. In addition to her years with "Pieces of a Dream", she has shared the stage with such music greats as Al Jarreau, Boney James, Gerald Albright, Carlos Santana, India Arie and Joe Sample. Add to that her role as background singer for Howard Hewett, Miki Howard and Maysa. In recent years, Hamlin has distinguished herself as the lead singer on two highly successfully "Pieces of a Dream" CDs - "No Assembly Required" and "Love's Silhouette".
Hamlin's career is built on a solid musical education foundation, which has played an integral part in her success. She developed her classical music skills learning how to sing in three languages - French, German and Italian - at the Baltimore School of the Arts. She topped off her musical training by studying at the prestigious Peabody Preparatory School of Music.
Hamlin best describes her singing like this, "As a vocalist, I plan to keep delivering good, quality music from my heart, which is what you'll find when you hear my music."
