For the past seven years, we have made it our mission to provide a quality product: acoustic versions of classic and current pop hits from the ’s – today…everything from The Beatles, Van Morrison and Simon & Garfunkel to BNL, David Grey and U . We deliver beautiful harmonies, a huge song selection that reaches every age (currently over songs and counting!), a great atmosphere and a lot of fun. We even invite those brave enough to come up and sing with us, creating the feel of a private party for everyone in attendance. All this in a compact, two man unit that fits almost anywhere, indoors or out and can even come with lights and a sound system.
We have built a strong following throughout the Twin Cities, and always create new fans everywhere we play. We will work to make a music scene that fits your clientele, your atmosphere and your space. We’re easy to work with and leave our egos at the wanna-be rock stars here! We realize that our job is to keep customers around a little while today, and keep them coming back tomorrow.
If you’ve had live music before, but thought that it wasn’t right for your crowd, or you’ve wanted music but thought it was too much noise and trouble...McCauley & Shaw is what you’ve been looking for! We will even work out an “introductory offer” so you can see what we mean. Give Chris a call at . . , and we can see what works.

GREENBRIER is a band started by Matthew Kane Smith in 2004 the name comes from Matthews 1963 chevy corviar Greenbrier band. www.greenbrierband.com will tell you all you need to know
After seeing Rex Lex live in concert, not many would dare deny that this band makes the VIP list as one of the nation’s most electrifying indie acts rocking the music circuit today.
The sonic performance of the show, without doubt, stands out from the great mass of “loud” rock bands that are so commonly heard and seen today. With great contrast, the instruments move with a dynamic fluidity similar to that of a symphony, yet the band flails on their instruments with a raw, heartfelt emotion for the issues that affect their generation, producing a pure “rock” quality of the purest form. Unforgettable melodies are artistically-executed as the vocals carry ministering words from the heart of the band to the heart of the crowd – a genuine transaction. A great juxtaposition, the sound of Rex Lex is truly a blend of both beauty and rock.
Music aside, the potently-charismatic members of this team instinctively generate atomic-levels of excitement from the stage, and the experienced know that it is far from unusual to see spectators of all ages and backgrounds plunging headfirst into the fun. Some people are born to entertain, and the members of Rex Lex are faithful stewards of their calling.
For a moment, close your eyes. As you listen to Hypothetical, take in the words, the feeling, and the intention of the song. It's a relevant song and many different people with many different experiences can pull from the lyrics and relate in some way or another. On the same level, it is discriptive enough to paint a visual image in your head and create (or recreate) some experience you have had or currently experiencing. The ending resolves, both musically and lryically to evoke a sense of hope and strength that was absent before. I am unbreakable. That is the power of music.
Music is the Universal Language. It breaks all barriers, unites people, and for those who write, record, and perform it, it is an outlet of creativity and soul. Music takes time, and we take that time so that the final product is something that we are satisfied with and proud of. Room236 is about the music- and we hope that as you listen to what we have recorded, that somehow, on some level, it means something to you. After all, isn't that what its supposed to be about?
The band has several new songs that are scheduled to hit the downloadable market by October of 07. We always want to hear from our friends out there about what you have on your minds. Drop us an email at: inforoom236@aol.com
We also want to give you the best live show we can. We want you to be able to plug in to the experience as a whole and leave feeling that you were able to enjoy not only the music, but the lighting, mood, and flow of the show. Rest assured that no matter what size or type of venue you see us perform in, we always give an audience our best.
We are open for booking and we are interested in any geographical location. At the very least, we always use sound clips to transition from song to song, making for an almost theatrical effect. Also, we always decorate the stage (per approval thru the appropriate channels) with fabrics & candles. We are also able to be a supporting act for another band you have perfoming at your venue. Our show usually runs about 90 minutes but we can expand or contract that as necessary. Please email us at:
