| In , Henry Neal, Dale McCrory, & Doug Woodard left their current band to form Southland with Jesse Boartfield. The Band continued for the next years to rehearse and play at many clubs as house band including: Chester's in Riverside, Al, P.J.'s in Margaret, Al., Friendly Ed's in Pell City, Al to name a few. brought new changes for the band with the idea of using two guitarists. The combination of Ron Dometrovich and Jesse Boartfield produced a new electricity in the sound of the band. was a big year for Southland. Back to a four piece the band settled into Steve Zito's recording studio and cut their first cd, Respect. Steve continued to work as second guitarist off and on over the next years. A single was released that year on A.M.I. Records. The song - Southland - reached .. on the independent charts and .. on the national charts! - After many years of playing in and around Birmingham, Southland finally played its first festival - Forth Fest in Pell City, Al., opening for The Fabulous Thunderbirds and John Anderson. - With the addition of Rick McDurmin on Bass, the band continued playing large venues such as : Briarfield Iron Works - opening for Montgomery Gentry, Lake Fest - opening for Dan Seals and The Grass Roots, and Birmingham's City Stages Coca-cola Stage! - Still going strong, Southland changed its sound with the addition of Tommy O'Barr on Guitar. Once again sceduled for City Stages BlockBuster Stage. Both Dale and Jesse continued writing new material. The band also played the Nashville Music Festival in ! - Back to a piece band Southland joins forces with time grammy winner Larry Butler !!The new cd features brand new songs from the band including original tunes!! - Southland continues to write songs and perform live music! | John Mark Anthony Bibbs was born to Apostle Herman and Sucile Bibbs December , in the city of Kansas City, Kansas. The third child of nine children. His two sisters being first and six brothers after him. But what made this time so great was the name factor. A few months before being born his father wanted to name him Herman Bibbs jr. but a man of God told his father to name his first son John Mark Anthony Bibbs (AND HE WOULD HAVE THE SPIRIT OF JOHN THE BAPTIST).
Five years later, the family moved to Birmingham, Alabama where his Father began his ministry. After two years of establishing the ministry John Mark Anthony Bibbs became the drummer in the church, singing occasionally.
During his high school years, he participated in the Marching, Jazz , Concert Band and Choir. He received numerous awards All City, and All State for his excellence in Music. His hunger for music deepened and he wanted to learn more.
John Mark Anthony Bibbs and Kevin Johnson begin a Christian rap group called New Breed Deft MC’s. While in his learning stage, three of his brothers, brother-in-law and John Mark Anthony Bibbs formed a group called Righteous. They performed in many churches and major competitions around the state of Alabama. This helped to developed his stage presence, performance and ability to relate to audiences.
John Mark Anthony Bibbs started taking music lessons with several instructors trying to find the one that would enhance the gift that God has placed within. His work with the church never stopped with instruction from the Senior Pastor and Father above they gave him the insight to develop the choir, praise singers and other musicians. Where he is presently working. His titles he has held are as follows teacher, Assistant Sunday school superintendent, youth leader, minister, minister of music and assistant pastor.
John Mark Anthony Bibbs began to write songs using his trials and everyday life experiences as a opportunity to share with the world. He has produced songs for Deborah Frazier, Derek Parrish, Natreesha Bibbs, Angel Littleton, and his own album. His ultimate goal is to be the first Christian artist to top every chart at one time. His motto is “Failures not the end it’s a stepping-stone to greatness“;. There are harvests of souls who need something special who need a song from the thoughts of God .God has charged John Mark Anthony Bibbs to help prepare the way for his second coming. |
